Allahabad Bank tumbles on reporting 52% fall in Q2 net profit

Allahabad Bank is currently trading at Rs. 131.05, down by 6.95 points or 5.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 138.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 138.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 138.10 and Rs. 127.95 respectively. So far 843899 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 211.40 on 22-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 103.00 on 22-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 138.40 and Rs. 127.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6800.36 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.24% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.75% and 13.01% respectively. 

Allahabad Bank has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The bank has reported a fall of 52.01% in its net profit at Rs 234.20 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 488.02 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank has increased by 9.04% to Rs 4,582.64 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4,202.64 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) of the bank has increased to 2.95% for the quarter as against 1.77% in the previous quarter. Net non-performing assets (NPAs) of the bank were at 2.10%, higher than 0.69% in the previous quarter.
