National Housing Bank (NHB) has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 4.75 lakh plus GST on Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) for technical non-compliance with NHB circular NHB(ND)/DRS/Pol No.58/2013-14 dated November 18, 2013 and NHB(ND)/DRS/Policy Circular No.75/2016.

HDFC offers a whole gamut of products like loans to individuals, loans to corporates, construction finance, and lease rental discounting. The financial conglomerate has subsidiaries and associates in insurance (general and life), asset management, education finance, venture funds and banking services.
