Delta Corp shines as its arm increases its equity holding in DHPL

Delta Corp is currently trading at Rs. 70.40, up by 0.40 points or 0.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 70.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 70.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 70.85 and Rs. 69.75 respectively. So far 215869 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 104.30 on 09-Nov-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 52.00 on 11-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 71.85 and Rs. 65.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1581.22 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.26% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.45% and 51.28% respectively.  

India's only listed gaming and hospitality company, Delta Corp’s, wholly-owned subsidiary Delta Hospitality and Leisure (DHLPL), has increased its equity holding in Daman Hospitality (DHPL) through a conversion of Fully Convertible Debentures (FCDs).

The acquisition and conversion of these Series-B FCDs into 2.83 crore voting class equity shares has resulted in an increase in DHLPL’s shareholding in the company, which now stands at 87.16% from the earlier 51%.

Through this purchase, Delta Corp has once again demonstrated its commitment to the hospitality and gaming business, which remain its core focus area. Delta Corp is also looking to gradually expand its presence in both these sectors through organic and inorganic routes.

Delta Corp is the largest gaming company in India and the only listed company in this space. The company is an early entrant in this space and has attained a leadership position in a short span of time.
