State-owned, Power Grid Corporation of India has decided to float an overseas arm, along the lines of energy major ONGC's overseas arm OVL, as it has received expression of interests from global consultants like PwC, E&Y and KPMG to advise it on floating its overseas arm. Through this initiative, the company will grab opportunities in the global market.
The entity is also planning to enter into the Rs 3-lakh-crore distribution market and is likely to bag licenses for distribution in Odisha to start with. It will enter the distribution network segment as a part of its expansion plan and is already in talks with Odisha in this regard.
