In a significant development for the Indian Power Sector, NHPC and NTPC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ‘cooperation in overseas power sector’. The MoU includes taking up of project development, capacity building, O&M, RMU and other consultancy assignments outside India jointly by NHPC & NTPC.
NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
