Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and TVS Motor to see some action today

Tata Motors’ total domestic sales increased by 53 percent to 54,190 units in August as compared to the same month last year. The company had sold 35,420 units in August 2020. Its passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 28,018 units in August, up 51 percent as compared to 18,583 units in the same month last year. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 29,781 units, up 66 percent from 17,889 units in August 2020.

Ashok Leyland has reported 48 per cent growth in its total sales, including exports, at 9,360 units in August over the same month last year. The company had sold 6,325 vehicles in both domestic and overseas markets in August 2020. Domestic sales rose 44 per cent to 8,400 units in the previous month as compared to 5,824 vehicles sold in August 2020.

TVS Motor Company has registered sales of 290,694 units in August 2021 as against sales of 287,398 units in the month of August 2020. Total two-wheelers registered sales of 274,313 units in August 2021 as against sales of 277,226 units in August 2020. Domestic two-wheeler registered sales of 179,999 units in August 2021 as against sales of 218,338 units in August 2020. With pandemic restrictions easing and the festive season soon approaching, it expects the retails to improve significantly in the coming months.

Coal India (CIL) has produced 42.6 million tonnes of coal in August, registering an increase of 14.6 per cent over the corresponding month of the previous fiscal. The rise in production comes at a time when there are reports of thermal power generation units across the country grappling with coal shortages.

EPL has partnered with Colgate-Palmolive India, one of the largest oral care brands to produce Recyclable Platina Toothpaste Tubes in India. This first set of recyclable tubes is the starting point for converting to 100 per cent recyclable tubes for Colgate-Palmolive.

NMDC’s iron ore production surged over 44 per cent to 15.02 million tonnes (MT) in April-August 2021. The company's iron ore output was 10.42 MT in the same period last fiscal. In August 2021, ts iron ore production rose to 3.06 MT from 1.62 MT a year ago. Its total sales of iron ore during April-August 2021-22 also jumped 45 per cent to 15.67 MT, as against 10.80 MT in the corresponding period last year.

NLC India has raised Rs 600 crore through Commercial Paper and allotted 12,000 Nos. of Commercial Paper of a face value of Rs 5,00,000 each on August 31, 2021.
