M&M planning to cut output at automotive division

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is planning to cut output at its automotive division by up to 25 percent owing to no production days of around seven days across its plants due to semiconductor shortage. Its automotive division continues to face a supply shortage of semiconductors, which further accentuated due to COVID-19 lockdowns in some parts of the world. Consequently, the company will be observing 'No Production Days' of around 7 days in its automotive division plants in September 2021.

M&M is the flagship company of the Mahindra Group, a multinational conglomerate based in Mumbai, India. Amongst the various business interests of its parent group, the company is mainly involved in the automobile manufacturing. It is one of the leading auto companies of India.
