Arasu Cable places Rs 200 crore worth order with Sterlite Technologies: Report

Government-owned Multiple System Operator (MSO) Arasu Cable Corporation has placed orders aggregating to worth of Rs 200 crore with Vedanta Group company Sterlite Technologies for setting top boxes, as mentioned in a media report. However, Arasu Cable Corporation is yet to get licence for DAS from the I&B Ministry.

Back in June, Sterlite’s wholly owned subsidiaries, namely, the Bhopal-Dhule Transmission Company (BDTCL) and Jabalpur Transmission Company (JTCL), received Rs 2,200 crore as Debt Syndication for their power transmission projects. The syndication had State Bank of India as the lead participant.

Sterlite Technologies manufactures telecom cables and power transmission conductors. It is the largest domestic player for both telecom cables and power transmission conductors, and has a sizable presence in the global optical fibre and cables market.
