Vedanta rises as its arm gets nod for acquisition of Desai Cement Company

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 311.90, up by 3.75 points or 1.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 308.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 310.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 312.40 and Rs. 307.50 respectively. So far 61635 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 385.75 on 19-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 91.25 on 04-Nov-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 314.75 and Rs. 296.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 114545.34 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.18%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.62% and 9.88% respectively.

Vedanta’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary -- Sesa Mining Corporation (SMCL), has received approval for the acquisition of Desai Cement Company (DCCPL). The acquisition will enhance the Group’s portfolio with Cement and help develop additional synergies through vertical integration. Board of Directors of Sesa Mining Corporation approved the same.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
