GAIL rises on getting NCLT’s nod for acquisition of IL&FS’ 26% stake in OTPC

GAIL is currently trading at Rs. 152.00, up by 0.50 points or 0.33% from its previous closing of Rs. 151.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 153.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 153.00 and Rs. 150.60 respectively. So far 755771 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 171.35 on 06-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 83.80 on 05-Nov-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 154.75 and Rs. 149.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 67449.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 44.02% and 4.14% respectively.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved GAIL’s (India) acquisition of bankrupt Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services’ (IL&FS) 26 per cent stake in ONGC Tripura Power Company (OTPC).

OTPC is a special purpose vehicle between Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), IL&FS Group and Government of Tripura (GoT) for setting up of a 726.6 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) thermal power plant at Palatana, Tripura.
