State Bank of India donates bus to Lakshya Sadhana society

State Bank of India has donated a Tata winger mini-bus to Lakshya Sadhana society for the mentally challenged, as part of its community service banking. It has spent Rs 4 crore under corporate social responsibility activities, in the last financial year. The bank has also decided to donate nearly 25 medical vans to hospitals/health centers situated in the backward districts of Andhra Pradesh under the ‘Adoption of girl child’ scheme.

The company has reported 147.17% rise in its net profit at Rs 1036.49 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 419.34 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 33.26% at Rs 4191.16 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 3145.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
