New order win by subsidiary lifts Larsen & Toubro

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is currently trading at Rs 1656.10, up by 36.50 points or 2.25% from its previous closing of Rs 1619.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1625.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1659.00 and Rs 1620.40 respectively. So far 139227 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1719.50 on 29-Oct-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 971.00 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1659.00 and Rs 1563.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 101653.07 crore.

The Institutions holding in the company stood at 53.24% while Non-Institutions held 43.55% respectively.

L&T Construction, the wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, has secured new orders valued over Rs 1,178 crore across various business segments in November 2012. The buildings & Factories IC, has won new international orders in UAE worth Rs 595 crore for the construction of hospital building and other associated facilities.

In the solar division, L&T Construction-India’s largest player in the solar power has bagged new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders worth Rs 280 crore for the construction of solar PV systems in Rajasthan from multiple customers. It has also got additional orders worth Rs 303 crore from ongoing projects, mainly in airports, factories, minerals and metals, besides in power transmission and distribution.
