Exide Industries has received in-principle approval to set up green field multi-gigawatt Li-ion cell manufacturing facility in India. It also plans to apply for and participate in the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme for National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery Storage, issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
Exide Industries was incorporated in January 1947 as Associated Battery Makers to purchase all or any of the assets of the business of manufacturers, buyers and sellers of and dealers in and repairers of electrical and chemical appliances and goods carried on by the Chloride Electric Storage Company.
