VA Tech Wabag, a leading global player in water and wastewater management, has bagged various orders in Switzerland. The company has bagged first order worth EUR 8 million for Andermatt Waste water treatment plant. The plant is to be extended using advanced WABAG fine sieving, FLUOPUR and WABAG filtration, three of WABAG's innovative technologies. WABAG is to supply Abwasser Uri with a turnkey, state of the art plant. Work will commence in spring 2012 and the expansion wastewater treatment plant will be ready for operations at the end of 2013.
Abwasser Uri, the organization responsible for wastewater treatment in the canton, put a contract out to tender for the expansion of the plant on a package basis. The concept from WABAG was selected as the best and most cost-efficient solution.
The company has bagged other orders worth EUR 4.9 million for Lake Neuchatel WTP, Mannedorf Waste Water Treatment Plant and contracts from Raron and Rheintal. For Lake Neuchatel, Cudrefin, WTP, this Water Treatment Plant (WTP) would employ the latest membrane technology and the treatment process includes ultra filtration, activated carbon filtration and disinfection. For Mannedorf Waste Water Treatment Plant, this order pertains to moving bed filtration system using WABAG FLUOPUR and dual layer filtration technologies.
The other contracts received by the company is for design and supply of two de-acidification filters in Raron, Swiss and the supply of filtration plant for Swiss Rheintal.
With the Andermatt and other order won, WABAG has once again provided evidence of its technological leadership in Switzerland.
