Exide Industries inches up on investing Rs 20 crore in Exide Leclanche Energy

Exide Industries is currently trading at Rs. 176.85, up by 0.85 points or 0.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 176.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 174.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 177.50 and Rs. 174.75 respectively. So far 65712 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 220.60 on 24-Feb-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 152.65 on 20-Dec-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 184.00 and Rs. 174.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14960.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.99%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.24% and 23.77% respectively.

Exide Industries (EIL) has invested Rs 19.99 crore by way of subscription to the equity share capital of its subsidiary, Exide Leclanche Energy (hereinafter referred as ‘JVC’) in order to meet various funding requirements of JVC. The equity shares against the current investment were allotted by the JVC on January 21, 2022. With the current investment, EIL shareholding in JVC stands increased to 84.90%.

Exide Industries was incorporated in January 1947 as Associated Battery Makers to purchase all or any of the assets of the business of manufacturers, buyers and sellers of and dealers in and repairers of electrical and chemical appliances and goods carried on by the Chloride Electric Storage Company.
