Vedanta rises on planning to invest $1.5 billion across oil, zinc, steel business

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 413.30, up by 3.15 points or 0.77% from its previous closing of Rs. 410.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 409.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 417.80 and Rs. 407.65 respectively. So far 450454 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 417.80 on 28-Mar-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 209.80 on 12-Apr-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 417.80 and Rs. 380.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 153873.45 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.69%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.51% and 9.36% respectively.

Vedanta has planned to invest $1.5 billion across its oil and gas, zinc and steel businesses. Its board at a meeting approved $687 million capital spending for drilling of new wells at the firm's oil and gas unit, Cairn Oil & Gas.

It also approved a $466 million phase-2 expansion of the Gamsberg zinc project in South Africa and another $348 million for steel expansion.

Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
