GAIL to receive LNG for Dabhol facility in Maharashtra

24 Dec 2012 Evaluate

In a bid to commission its beleaguered Dabhol facility in Maharashtra, State gas utility GAIL India will receive a LNG cargo from Gazprom of Russia on December 28.

The said plant, which was built about 15 years back, is likely to be commissioned by end January next year. The plant will import 5 million tones of LNG a year.

GAIL had in March this year imported a shipload of LNG for commissioning the 5 Dabhol. But the operations had to be aborted midway after two successive equipment failures.
