GAIL gains on tidings of receiving LNG for Dabhol facility in Maharashtra

GAIL is currently trading at Rs. 349.60, up by 1.30 points or 0.37% from its previous closing of Rs. 348.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 352.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 352.00 and Rs. 348.00 respectively. So far 304720 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 401.00 on 16-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 303.10 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 352.80 and Rs. 343.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 44320.60 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.34% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.84% and 2.92% respectively.

In a bid to commission its beleaguered Dabhol facility in Maharashtra, State gas utility GAIL India will receive a LNG cargo from Gazprom of Russia on December 28.

The said plant, which was built about 15 years back, is likely to be commissioned by end January next year. The plant will import 5 million tones of LNG a year.

GAIL had in March this year imported a shipload of LNG for commissioning the 5 Dabhol. But the operations had to be aborted midway after two successive equipment failures.
