SJVN has spent over Rs 340 crore on various activities under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), including education, health and infrastructural development, among others since its inception in 1988. The company has always been in the forefront in its role as a responsible corporate citizen, and has been pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility activities towards its stakeholders and society.
SJVN is engaged in hydroelectric power generation originally established as a joint venture between the government and the state government of Himachal Pradesh to develop and operate the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS).
