Central Bank aims to garner Rs 50 crore per annum from money exchange counter

Central Bank of India is targeting to garner Rs 50 crore of business per annum from its first money exchange counter set up in the region at Srinagar airport. The company will gather the same through Haj pilgrims and foreign tourists.

The bank is also eyeing a business of Rs 20,771 crore including deposits of Rs 11,300 crore by end of 2012-13. So far, the bank has given advances to the tune of Rs 8,136 crore and deposits of Rs 10,553 crore.

Further, the state owned bank is planning to open another money exchange counter in Chandigarh as and when international flights start from there. On network expansion, the bank plans to open 20 new branches in current fiscal at several places in the region.

Central Bank of India was the first Indian commercial bank, which was wholly owned and managed by Indians. Central Bank of India which has got pan India presence with more than 4,100 branches, has been continuously devoted itself in the service of the retail customers through its customer centric approach.
