The company’s total two wheeler sales fell by 9.63% with sales of 151,735 units in December 2012 against 167,905 units recorded in December 2011. The company has sold 60,210 motorcycle units in December 2012 against 56,662 units in the same month last year, registering a growth of 6%.
Further, the company’s domestic two-wheeler sales declined to 134,566 units as against 146,747 units in December 2011. Scooters registered sales of 30,398 units in December 2012 against 44,804 units in the same month of the previous year. The company witnessed a substantial increase in the three wheeler segment with sales growing by 78% from 2,523 units in December 2011 to 4,486 units in December 2012.
Meanwhile, the company’s total exports for the month of December 2012 stood at 20,251 units against 22,481 units in the same month of the previous year. Two wheeler exports reported for the month of December 2012 was 17,169 units in comparison with 21,158 units in December 2011.
