MOIL gains on plans to pick up stake in Maravilloso Mines

MOIL is currently trading at Rs. 264.70, up by 0.05 points or 0.02% from its previous closing of Rs. 264.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 268.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 268.00 and Rs. 264.10 respectively. So far 5504 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 296.40 on 04-Jul-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 226.30 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 268.25 and Rs. 255.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4452.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 8.50% and 11.50% respectively.

Manganese Ore India (MOIL), country’s largest manganese miner has shown interest in picking up a participating interest in Maravilloso Mines in Peru owned by Melrose Mines and Minerals.

Melrose is a diversified mining firm having operating and developing iron ore and manganese mines with reserves of over 400 million tonnes and 30 million tonnes, respectively.

MOIL is the largest iron ore company in India and fifth largest in world. It currently operates seven underground mines (Kandri, Munsar, Beldongri, Gumgaon, Chikla, Balaghat and Ukwa mines) and three opencast mines (Dongri Buzurg, Sitapatore/Sukli, and Tirodi). The company is actively involved in exploration and development activities with a view to increase its proven manganese ore reserves.
