M&M spurts on registering 6% growth in December’12 domestic sales

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is currently trading at Rs 942.30, up by 12.30 points or 1.32% from its previous closing of Rs 930.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 936.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 943.50 and Rs 935.00 respectively. So far 31241 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 973.35 on 19-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 621.75 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 950.75 and Rs 920.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 57738.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.60% and 20.66% respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M & M) has registered 6% growth in domestic sales at 42307 units in December 2012, compared with 39891 units sold during the same month a year ago. Exports for the month of December 2012 stood at 2990 units, a growth of 4% over December 2011.

India’s leading SUV manufacturer has reported a 6% rise in auto sales number for December 2012 at 45297 units, as against 42761 units during December 2011.  The company’s passenger vehicles also registered 18% growth at 22761 units in December 2012, compared to 19341 units during December 2011. It’s 4 wheeler commercial segment which includes the passenger and load categories registered a sale of 13706 units, while the 3 wheeler segment clocked 5209 units in December 2012.
