Hero MotoCorp, the country's largest two-wheeler maker, has signed a multi-year deal with the upcoming Hockey India League for the title sponsorship of the event. The tournament will now be called as ‘Hero Hockey India League’ pursuant to this sponsorship by the company.
The inaugural Hero Hockey India League will be held from January 14 to February 10 involving 120 leading players, showing their finest skills in 34 matches.
Five teams -Delhi Waveriders, Jaypee Punjab Warriors, Uttar Pradesh Wizards, Mumbai Magicians and Ranchi Rhinos -- will compete in the inaugural season at five venues - Delhi, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ranchi respectively.
