Hero MotoCorp shines on reporting marginal rise in December 2012 sales

Hero MotoCorp is currently trading at Rs. 1922.20, up by 24.05 points or 1.27% from its previous closing of Rs. 1898.15 on the BSE

The scrip opened at Rs. 1925.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1935.00 and Rs. 1916.45 respectively. So far 9,528 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2278.50 on 02-May-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1702.65 on 09-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1912.85 and Rs. 1855.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 38,383 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.21% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.01% and 8.78% respectively.

Hero MotoCorp, country's largest two-wheeler maker has registered a marginal increase in its sales at 5,41,615 units in December 2012 against 5,40,276 units in December 2011. Further, the company has various marketing and customer engagement plans lined up for the remaining months of the fiscal to maintain this trajectory.

The company had reported a fall of 27.01% in its net profit at Rs 440.58 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2012 as compared to Rs 603.62 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has decreased by 10.62% at Rs 5286.80 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 5914.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.
