Bajaj Auto gains on registering 13% jump in December sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 2170.30, up by 33.35 points or 1.56% from its previous closing of Rs. 2136.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2140.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2177.00 and Rs. 2137.65 respectively. So far 12672 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2177.00 on 2-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1410.00 on 16-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2165.00 and Rs. 2103.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 62507.62 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.08% and 24.87% respectively.

Bajaj Auto has registered a 13% rise in its total vehicle sales (excluding exports) in the month of December. The company has sold 3,43,946 units in December 2012 as compared to 3,05,690 units in the same month last year, while the company’s sales from export surged by 5% to 1,26,016 units from 1,19,708 units in December 2011.

The company has sold 45,596 units of Commercial Vehicle (CV) in December 2012, registering gains of 9% as compared to 41,991 in December 2011. Moreover, the total motorcycle sales for the month also surged 13% at 2,98,350 units from 2,63,699 units.
