Steel Strips Wheels reports 18.18% decline in December, 2012 sales

Steel Strips Wheels (SSWL) has registered a decline of 18.18% in December, 2012 sales by achieving gross sales of 7.65 lakh steel wheel rims during the month as against 9.35 lakh steel wheel rims during the month of December 2011. The gross sale of the company in terms of value is Rs 75.75 crore during December, 2012 as against Rs 101.77 crore in December, 2011.

The company has achieved the export sales of 88,746 wheel rims during the month of December, 2012 as against 101,893 wheel rims during the month of December, 2011. Besides, the company is expecting to achieve sale of 8.30 lakh steel wheels rims in January, 2013.

SSWL is a part of the Steel Strips Group, headquartered in Chandigarh. It is engaged in the manufacturing of single piece steel wheel rims in the range of 10 to 30 inches for scooters, passenger cars, utility vehicles and tractors. It supplies rims to almost all major manufacturers of two wheelers, three wheelers, four wheelers, tractors and heavy commercial vehicle.

Due to the overall recession in the 4 wheeler industry, week sentiments for passenger vehicles as well as commercial vehicles, high interest rates and slower economic growth, sale of almost all OEMs manufacturers witnessed downfall, which in turn has affected the performance of the company in Dec 2012.
