Hero MotoCorp backed electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy is in talks with several state governments to set up a new manufacturing facility in the country. The company is to be in talks with officials of several state governments, including Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Karnataka, to set up an additional manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of about 15 lakh units.
The company is in the last leg of negotiations and is likely to finalise the location within the next month. Ather has a plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with a current capacity of 1.2 lakh units per annum. Hero MotoCorp currently holds around a 35 per cent stake in Ather Energy.
