GAIL edges higher on unveiling its investment plans for next fiscal

GAIL (India) is currently trading at Rs 365.50, up by 1.75 points or 0.48% from its previous closing of Rs 363.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 368.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 368.00 and Rs 364.60 respectively. So far 3524 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 401.00 on 16-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 303.10 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 377.00 and Rs 361.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 46679.97 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.34% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.84% and 2.92% respectively.

In a bid to complete the many on-going projects, state-run gas utility GAIL India is planning to invest Rs 9,000 crore in the next fiscal. Out of total invested amount, most will be used for laying more pipelines and expansion of its petrochemicals project at Pata in Uttar Pradesh.

In the current fiscal, Gail had planned a similar capital expenditure, but is likely to end the year with a spending of Rs 6,500 crore only.

GAIL is India's flagship natural gas company integrating all aspects of the natural gas value chain including exploration and production, processing, transmission, distribution and marketing and related services.
