Apollo Tyres gains on inaugurating global R&D centre Netherlands

Apollo Tyres is currently trading at Rs. 89.40, up by 0.20 points or 0.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 89.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 89.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 89.75 and Rs. 89.20 respectively. So far 43482 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 102.45 on 14-Sep-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 63.35 on 18-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 90.90 and Rs. 86.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4508.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.37% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.53% and 23.10% respectively.

Apollo Tyres has inaugurated global research and development (R&D) centre - Apollo Tyres Global R&D BV- in Enschede, the Netherlands. This R&D center will function as a hub for the development and testing of car and van tyres for all product brands. The tyre maker has employed more than 100 people from various parts of the world, including 20 car tyre specialists from India and South Africa for this new centre. It will later be scaled-up to nearly 150 people.

Apollo Tyres produces the entire range of automotive tyres for ultra and high speed passenger cars, truck and bus, farm, off-the-road, industrial and specialty applications like mining, retreaded tyres and retreading material. These are produced across Apollo’s eight manufacturing locations in India, Netherlands and Southern Africa.
