Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals on Monday

Most of the Asian markets traded higher in early deals on Monday, on account of optimism over global economic stability after the release of upbeat corporate earnings report of some major companies. Moreover, bets on less hawkish US Federal Reserve also lifted the sentiments. However, subdued Chinese economic data and the reports on surging covid-19 infections capped some investments. Japan’s Nikkei advanced cheering positive Wall Street on Friday. Meanwhile, investors digested the better than expected Japanese manufacturing data which continued to expand in July, albeit at its slowest pace in ten months.

Nikkei 225 up by 168.29 points or 0.61% to 27,969.93, Straights times rose 28.63 points or 0.89% to 3,240.19, Jakarta Composite climbed by 15.20 points or 0.22% to 6,966.32 and Shanghai added by 5.22 points or 0.16% to 3,258.46, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI lifted by 4.62 points or 0.31% to 1,496.85.

Bucking the trend, Hang Seng narrowed by 65.40 points 0.32% to 20,091.11, Taiwan dipped by 47.50 points or 0.32% to 14,952.57, KOSPI curtailed by 2.29 points or 0.09% to 2,449.21.
