Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Monday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Monday, amid risk aversion in the market with the intensified concerns over global economic slowdown, after hawkish comments from US Federal Reserve. Investors keenly awaited for more cues on monetary policy outlook ahead of annual Jackson Hole economic symposium in Wyoming this week. Japan’s Nikkei extended loss to the third starlight session, in tandem with the negative cues from Wall Street on Friday overnight. However, Shanghai advanced in the session after the PBoC trimmed its benchmark lending rates for corporate and household loans to raise credit demand in the country.

Nikkei 225 down by 156.17 points or 0.54% to 28,774.16, KOSPI narrowed by 29.20 points or 1.17% to 2,463.49, Taiwan lower by 132.80 points or 0.86% to 15,275.98, Jakarta Composite shrunk by 74.21 points or 1.03% to 7,098.22, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI curtailed by 12.92 points or 0. 0.86% to 1,491.52.

On flip side, Straight times up 19.56 points or 0.60% to 3,266.07, Hang Seng increased by 39.49 points 0. 0.20% to 19,812.52, Shanghai rose by 18.46 points or 0.57% to 3,276.54.
