Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Wednesday, mirroring losses on Wall Street overnight due to the risk aversion in market ahead to US Fed Chair Jerome Powell's speech at the central bank's annual Jackson Hole economic symposium in Wyoming on Friday. Japan’s Nikkei extended losing streak to the fifth straight session pressured by the sharp correction in technological sector overseas. Shanghai stocks also tumbled in the session amid worries over economic slowdown with its growing policy divergence with US that heightens the risk of capital outflows.

Nikkei 225 down by 153.70 points or 0.54% to 28,299.05, Straights times diminished 1.22 points or 0.04% to 3,244.99, Hang Seng declined by 260.23 points 1.33% to 19,243.02, Taiwan shrunk by 19.95 points or 0.13% to 15,075.94, Jakarta Composite narrowed by 3.14 points or 0.04% to 7,160.13, Shanghai lower by 45.11 points or 1.38% to 3,231.11, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped by 13.58 points or 0.92% to 1,468.99.

Bucking the trend, KOSPI up by 2.24 points or 0.09% to 2,437.58.
