Two-wheeler major, Hero MotoCorp's Gurgaon plant management is going to have fresh talks with workers in the presence of labor department officials, in order to resolve the issue of wage hike on January 25, 2013. On January 21, it had ended the initial round of talks after both the parties failed to reach any conclusion and the matter was then referred to the deputy labor commissioner of the region for further deliberations.
The workers, who are demanding a monthly wage hike of up to Rs 18,000 over a three-year period, have now decided to wait for the outcome of the discussions, based on which they will decide on their future course of action.
The company has reported 20.41% fall in its net profit at Rs 487.89 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 613.03 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 2.60% at Rs 6277.72 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 6118.76 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
