Vijaya Bank soars on reporting marginal rise in Q3 net profit

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 60.35, up by 2.05 points or 3.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 58.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 58.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.50 and Rs. 57.20 respectively. So far 3, 56,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 68.90 on 21-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 46.20 on 31-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 64.20 and Rs. 57.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,990 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.03% and 25.95% respectively.

The bank has reported 1.98% rise in its net profit at Rs 126.73 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 124.27 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 8.42% at Rs 2357.02 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2173.92 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2012 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 2.91%, slightly better than 2.98% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA remained lower at 1.71% in the quarter under review as against 1.81% in Q3FY12.
