Bank of India surges on reporting 12% rise in Q3 net profit

Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 369.85, up by 5.45 points or 1.50% from its previous closing of Rs. 364.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 365.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 377.75 and Rs. 365.00 respectively. So far 306822 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 408.00 on 22-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 253.80 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 389.75 and Rs. 342.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21439.30 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 62.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.58% and 6.70% respectively.

Bank of India has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The bank has reported 12.19% rise in its net profit at Rs 803.48 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 716.15 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 11.97% at Rs 8959.83 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 8002.27 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2012 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 3.08%, higher as compared to 2.74% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA remained higher at 1.97% in the quarter under review as against 1.78% in Q3FY12.
