Bharti Airtel, KEC International and Vedanta to see some action today

Bharti Airtel and Nokia have joined hands to bring India’s first 5G enabled immersive experience to visitors at the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. Airtel and Nokia will bring to life the cultural splendour of Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Statue of Unity through Holographic images demonstrating the benefits of ultra- fast and low latency 5G network.

KEC International has secured new orders of Rs 1,407 crore. Transmission & Distribution (T&D) business has secured orders for T&D projects in Middle East. Civil business has secured an order for the construction of official quarters and associated facilities for senior Government officials in India. Railways business has secured an order for Signaling & Telecommunication works of Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) under ‘Kavach’ in consortium in India. Cables business has secured orders for various types of cables in India and overseas.

Vedanta’s aluminium production increased by 2 per cent to 5,84,000 tonnes in the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal (Q2FY23). The company's aluminium production in the corresponding quarter of FY22 stood at 5,70,000 tonnes. The mined metal output at Zinc India during the July-September quarter also went up by 3 per cent to 2,55,000 tonnes over 2,48,000 tonnes in the same period of the previous fiscal.

NCC has received a new order for Rs 393 crore (exclusive of GST) in the month of September 2022. This pertains to Building Division and received from State Government agencies and does not include any internal Order. Earlier, in August, the company had received four orders aggregating to Rs 292 crore (exclusive of GST).

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported over 2-fold jump in domestic passenger vehicles sales at 34,508 units in September 2022. The company had sold 13,134 units in the same month last year. Exports for the month were at 2,538 vehicles. In the Commercial Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 21,666 vehicles in September 2022.

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has recorded 13% YoY (year on year) growth in cargo volumes in September 2022, to reach 26.1 MMT. This volume jump is despite an extended monsoon which adversely impacted the coal demand/imports and the ban/higher duties on rice exports imposed at the beginning of the month. In the initial six months of FY23, the Company managed 177.5 MMT of cargo, which is a good 11% increase over the corresponding period last year.

Tata Steel Long Products (TSLP) has achieved a major milestone with the restarting of the Blast Furnace at the Kalinganagar plant of its subsidiary, Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL), just 90 days after the completion of its acquisition on July 4, 2022. The rapid restart underlines Tata Steel’s commitment to the site, the underlying strength of the existing assets and its importance to Tata Steel’s strategy.
