GMR synchronizes first unit of coal based power project at Odisha

GMR Infrastructure’s Group Company - GMR Group’s first unit of 3X350 MW coal based power project at Kamalanga, near Dhenkanal in Odisha, was successfully synchronized with the central grid on January 27, 2013. This is the Group’s second coal-based power plant to be synchronized.

Besides, work on commissioning the second and third unit is in progress. The project has been implemented on multiple packages concept and is the first IPP in Odisha under MoU to have synchronized with the Central Grid. The project will cater to the power needs of various states of India including Odisha.

GMR Infrastructure is the infrastructure holding company formed to fund the capital requirements of various infrastructure projects in the Group’s Energy, Highways and Airport and SEZ sectors. It undertakes the development of the infrastructure projects through its various subsidiaries.
