Escorts EAM reports 3% growth in January 2013 sales

Escorts, one of India’s leading engineering conglomerates - agri machinery segment (EAM) sold 4,270 tractors in the domestic market, a growth of 3% against 4,144 tractors in January 2012. The total tractor sales including both the domestic sales and export in January 2013 stood at 4,300 units as against 4,334 tractors sold in the month of January 2012.

Escorts offer a comprehensive range of tractors with more than 45 variants starting from 25 to 80 HP. The company also manufactures and markets a diverse range of equipments like cranes, loaders, vibratory rollers and forklifts.

The company has reported over three fold jump in its net profit at Rs 28.14 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 9.07 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the company has increased marginally by 0.22% at Rs 1028.18 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1025.96 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
