Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower early deals on Wednesday, due to risk aversion in the market amid fears that China’s reopening would add inflationary pressures to the global economy. Moreover, persisting concerns over hawkish Central banks spurred recession fears. Japan’s Nikkei snapped its two straight day gains after investor sentiments dulled followed by dimmer than expected industrial production data for November.

Nikkei 225 down by 152.88 points or 0.58% to 26,294.99, KOSPI shrunk by 48.83 points or 2.09% 2,283.96, Taiwan narrowed by 175.48 points or 1.22% to 14,152.95, Jakarta Composite diminished by 60.44 points or 0.87% to 6,862.59, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI dipped by 7.05 points or 0.48% to 1,467.64.

On flip side, Straight times rose 0.80 points or 0.02% to 3,267.18, Hang Seng increased by 418.93 points or 2.14% to 20,011.99, and Shanghai added by 1.37 points or 0.04% to 3,096.94.
