Indian Hotels Company surges on reporting 28% rise in Q3 net profit

Indian Hotels Company is currently trading at Rs. 62.35, up by 0.85 points or 1.38% from its previous closing of Rs. 61.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 62.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 63.70 and Rs. 61.70 respectively. So far 61255 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 80.00 on 17-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 51.30 on 12-Nov-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 62.50 and Rs. 58.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5022.48 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.53% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.83% and 26.60% respectively.

Indian Hotels Company has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2012.

The company has reported 28.01% rise in its net profit at Rs 64.62 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 50.48 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  Total income from operation of the company has increased by 3.69% at Rs 550.65 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 531.05 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

Indian Hotels Company and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces currently has 93 hotels in 55 locations across India with an additional 16 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, UK, USA, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.
