State Bank of India bounces back on the bourses

State Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 2219.00, up by 4.65 points or 0.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 2214.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2207.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2231.00 and Rs. 2204.15 respectively. So far 1, 35,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2550.00 on 10-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1804.50 on 16-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2343.70 and Rs. 2177.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1, 48,904 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.58% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.90% and 9.05% respectively.

State Bank of India has reported 4.08% rise in its net profit at Rs 3396.06 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 3263.04 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the bank has increased by 14.11% at Rs 33992.11 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 29787.37 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank, on consolidated basis, posted a rise of 7.65% in its net profit at Rs 4648.44 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 4318.08 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 18.18% at Rs 50942.14 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 43106.49 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
