Central Bank of India opens first Representative Office in Nairobi, Kenya

Public-sector bank, Central Bank of India has opened a Representative Office in the African Continent in Nairobi, Kenya on February 22, 2013. The branch opening function was attended by NRIs and Local Officials staying in Nairobi.

The Representative Office will facilitate the bank to tap the huge business potential in Kenya by providing marketing and liaisoning for the products and services of the parent bank i.e. Central Bank of India. The Representative Office will not engage in core banking but it will use its local presence to explore business opportunities with the aim of establishing a long term presence and penetrate the East African markets.

Central Bank of India has been serving more than 3,50,00,000 account holders through its 4,118 branches, 6 extension counters, 29 Satellite offices, 1,970 ATMs and 2,413 ultra small branches (USBs).
