TVS Motor Company has reported 3.70% decline in sales for the month of February 2013. The company has registered total sales of 165,696 units in passing month as against 172,061 units registered in same month previous year.
The company’s total two wheeler sales fell by 4.79% with sales of 160,895 units in February 2013 against 1,68,996 units recorded in February 2012. The company has sold 60,985 motorcycle units in February 2013 against 63,019 units in the same month last year, registering a fall of 3.22%.
Further, the company’s domestic two-wheeler sales declined to 142,800 units as against 152,796 units in February 2012. Scooters registered sales of 30,611 units in February 2013 against 36,693 units in the same month of the previous year. The company witnessed a substantial increase in the three wheeler segment with sales growing by 57% from 3,065 units in February 2012 to 4,801 units in February 2013.
Meanwhile, the company’s total exports for the month of February 2013 stood at 21,896 units against 17,960 units in the same month of the previous year. Two wheeler exports reported a growth of 12% in the month of February 2013 with sales of 18,095 units in comparison with 16,200 units in February 2012.
