Tata Motors works on changing strategy for passenger car segment

Tata Motors, automobile manufacturer is working on changing the company’s strategy in the passenger car segment. It has taken this decision considering decline in its market share of passenger car segment. In the short term, the automaker plans to do some mild changes in its business strategy. The entity has a major market share in the commercial vehicle segment at 62%, being a dominant player.

Under passenger vehicles segment, company’s sales for February 2013 were at 10,613 units. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in February 2013 were 7,769 units. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales stood at 2,844 units. The cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 208,845 units. The cumulative sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range were at 165,789 units while the cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range stood at 43,056 units.
