Eicher Motors’ motorcycle arm reports 7% rise in sales in March 2023

Eicher Motors’ motorcycle arm -- Royal Enfield has reported 7% increase in total sales at 72,235 units in March, 2023. The company had sold 67,677 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales were at 59,884 units as against 58,477 units in March 2022, registering a growth of 2%. Exports grew by 34% at 12,351 units last month as compared to 9,200 units in the year-ago period.

The company’s sales of models with engine capacity up to 350 cc increased by 13% at 62,726 units in March 2023 against 55,653 units in the same period year ago. However, the sales of its Models with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc fell by 21% at 9,509 units in March 2023 as against 12,024 units in March last year.

For the Financial year ended March 2023, Royal Enfield recorded total sales of 8,34,895 motorcycles, registering its highest ever overall sales in history; beating its previous high of 2018-19, and recording a significant 39% growth over the previous financial year. Continuing its spectacular growth in international markets, the company has crossed the 1,00,000 mark in export volumes for FY 2022-23, for the first time ever, and also registered a 23% growth over the previous financial year. With a 41% growth over the previous year, Royal Enfield registered sales of 7,34,840 in the domestic market.
