Vadilal Industries will be opening India's first artisanal gelato (Italian ice cream) outlet, melt in, in Ahmedabad which will also offer pastries and select snack items on women’s day. The company will make a dozen gelato recipes to be served at the outlet. Over the next few years, the company is planning to set up such niche artisanal gelato outlets in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore. The in-house gelato lab at melt in has imported equipment from Italy. A French chef was roped in to design the kitchen, prepare the non-gelato menu and to train the outlet's in-house chefs.
Strategically located in Ahmadabad, melt in would serve savouries like wraps, beverages and bakery items apart from artisanal gelato that would offer customers a different experience all together.
Vadilal Industries is engaged in the manufacture and sale of ice-cream and processed food products. The company's ice-cream segment offers a range of ice creams and frozen desserts in packs, including cups, party packs, family bricks, dollies, cones, and candies.
