Spicejet flies high on International Women’s day

Spicejet is currently trading at Rs 34.80, up by 0.60 points or 1.75 % from its previous closing of Rs 34.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 33.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs 35.50 and Rs 33.60 respectively. So far 2542849 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 50.90 on 07-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 21.05 on 09-Mar-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 36.20 and Rs 31.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1737.74 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 48.59% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.25% and 34.16% respectively.

In recognition to International Women’s day, Private carrier SpiceJet operated its first flight by all women-crew. The flight began around 5 am onwards with SpiceJet's Boeing B-737 fleet taking off from Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru. Its Bombardier Q-400 fleet of aircrafts flew from New Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Meanwhile, the all-women flight operations included eight women captains and 27 co-pilots for the Boeing B-737 fleet and three captains and 10 co-pilots for the Bombardier Q-400 fleet.

Presently, the airline enjoys 19.3% market share and operates four daily flights to Dubai from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Kochi. The airline will also connect Lucknow with New Delhi. The daily flights on the Varanasi-Sharjah and Lucknow- Sharjah will begin from March 7 and March 11, respectively
