Tata Power constructs rail platforms for ash disposal and stacking at Jojobera

09 Mar 2013 Evaluate

Tata Power has developed a platform at the Railway line within the premises of its Jojobera Power Station for storing raw materials like coal unloading and rack loading for ash bags dispatching.

In the first phase of the installation a platform 270 m long and 20 m wide has been constructed. These dimensions ensure that 28 wagons and 4 rows of ash stacking per wagon be accommodated on the platform, which means that a total of 112 wagons ash stack can be placed on the platform for loading purpose.

Besides, this installation will prevent stacking of ash bags on plain mud and speed up the procedure of Fly Ash to North East India Cement Industries since there was no permanent infrastructure available for stacking.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
