Spicejet flies higher on launching low cost Sharjah-Lucknow services

Spicejet is currently trading at Rs 34.90, up by 0.40 points or 1.16% from its previous closing of Rs 34.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 34.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs 35.15 and Rs 34.25 respectively. So far 385892 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 50.90 on 07-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 21.30 on 22-Mar-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 36.45 and Rs 32.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1747.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 48.59% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.25% and 34.16% respectively.

SpiceJet, India's second-largest budget carrier by market share has launched its low cost Sharjah-Lucknow services which will fly four days a week between the two cities. With this, the private carrier has brought Lucknow to its international air travel network. Sharjah is one of the most sought after regions in the Middle-East and the connectivity from Lucknow and Varanasi adds to the convenience of the flyers from the state.

Besides, the private carrier is also eyeing Delhi-Sharjah flight via Lucknow and (return flight) to fly four days a week.
